We recently celebrated the International Day of Plant Health in Mogadishu, an important occasion organized by the Somali Plant Protection Association in collaboration with the Somali National University.
This vital event brought together officials from the Somali Forestry and Range Department, academic leaders, environmental and agricultural experts, and members of the wider community. Discussions focused on the critical role plant health plays in food security, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation.
The IBS Foundation—through IBS Bank—was honored to participate and reaffirm its commitment to environmental well-being, climate resilience, and sustainable development. During the event, we encouraged all attendees to take active responsibility in protecting plant health and preventing degradation, which is essential for Somalia’s ecological and economic future.
We believe that public awareness is a key step toward long-term environmental protection, and we remain committed to supporting such initiatives across the country.
