About IBS Foundation

Inspiring Excellence, Empowering Communities Across East Africa

Our History

Founded on June 22, 2019, IBS Foundation emerged to formalize IBS Bank’s philanthropic efforts, turning ad-hoc charitable acts into a strategic force for good. What began as small-scale CSR projects evolved into a structured nonprofit powerhouse, driven by a clear vision: to uplift East Africa systematically.

As IBS Bank grew, so did the urgency to address systemic challenges—educational barriers, healthcare disparities, and economic exclusion. The Foundation was born to meet these needs head-on, governed by a Board of Directors and a team of development experts committed to transparency and scalable impact.

Today, our footprint spans five East African nations, with milestones like: 50,000+ lives transformed through scholarships, vocational training, and microloans. 120+ mobile clinics delivering healthcare to remote communities. 30% women-led businesses supported through our entrepreneurship programs.
